Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
At AMSi Tutor, we believe technology designed to help children learn should also protect them. AMSi is an AI-powered learning and homework support platform designed to help children understand their schoolwork, learn from mistakes, build confidence, and develop their skills. Because our platform may process information relating to children, privacy and responsible data use are important parts of how AMSi is designed and operated.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to parents and guardians.
1. Who Uses AMSi
AMSi is designed for children to use under the authorization and oversight of a parent or legal guardian.
A parent or guardian creates and manages the primary AMSi account and may create one or more child profiles where permitted by the selected subscription.
Children should not independently create parent accounts or provide personal information to AMSi without appropriate parental or guardian authorization.
2. Information We May Collect
Parent or Guardian Information
When an adult creates or manages an AMSi account, we may collect information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Account and login information
- Subscription information
- Payment and transaction information
- Communications with AMSi
- Preferences and account settings
Payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers. AMSi may not directly store complete payment-card details.
Child Profile Information
Depending on the features being used, a parent or guardian may provide limited information relating to a child, such as:
- First name, nickname, or profile name
- Age or age range
- Learning level
- Subjects being studied
- Learning preferences
- Homework, worksheets, questions, or assignments submitted to AMSi
- Answers and work completed through AMSi
- Learning progress and areas where additional support may be helpful
- Achievements, rewards, or other gamification information
We encourage parents and children not to include unnecessary personal information in homework uploads or conversations with AMSi.
Uploaded Content
Users may upload photographs, documents, worksheets, curriculum materials, past tests, homework, or similar educational content. Some uploaded material may contain personal information. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to provide material uploaded to AMSi.
Voice Features
If voice tutoring or other voice-enabled features are available, AMSi may process audio or voice information necessary to provide those features. Where a feature allows a parent or guardian to create or authorize a personalized or replicated voice, additional consent and verification requirements may apply. AMSi will not intentionally create a replica of another person's voice without appropriate authorization.
Technical Information
When AMSi is used, we may automatically receive information such as:
- Device and browser type
- IP address
- Login activity
- Usage information
- Session information
- Cookies and similar technologies
- Error, security, and diagnostic information
We use this information primarily to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create and manage AMSi accounts and child profiles
- Provide homework and learning support
- Review submitted work and recommend corrections
- Explain concepts and help children understand mistakes
- Personalize the learning experience
- Maintain learning progress where the applicable subscription permits it
- Recommend learning activities or learning plans where applicable
- Provide rewards, achievements, and gamification features
- Provide voice-enabled features where selected
- Process subscriptions and payments
- Provide customer and technical support
- Maintain the safety and security of AMSi
- Detect misuse, fraud, or technical problems
- Improve the reliability and performance of the platform
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We aim to collect and use only the information reasonably necessary to provide and improve AMSi.
4. Children's Privacy
Protecting children's information is especially important to us. AMSi is designed so that the parent or guardian maintains control of the primary account. Where parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law, AMSi will seek that consent before collecting or using a child's personal information.
We do not intend to knowingly collect children's personal information in circumstances where the required parental or guardian authorization has not been provided.
Parents and guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with their child's profile, subject to applicable legal requirements.
5. Artificial Intelligence
AMSi uses artificial intelligence to provide educational assistance. Information submitted to AMSi may be processed by artificial intelligence systems and technology service providers for purposes such as understanding a question, reviewing schoolwork, generating explanations, recommending corrections, or personalizing learning.
AMSi is intended to support learning rather than simply complete a child's work for them.
AI-generated responses can occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. Children should be encouraged to use AMSi as a learning tool and to consult a parent, teacher, or other trusted adult where appropriate.
We will seek to use service providers and technical configurations that appropriately protect information submitted through AMSi.
6. We Do Not Sell Children's Personal Information
AMSi does not sell children's personal information. We also do not intend to use children's personal information for behavioural advertising or to build advertising profiles about children.
If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain additional consent where required by law.
7. When Information May Be Shared
We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate AMSi, including providers of:
- Cloud hosting and data storage
- Artificial intelligence technology
- Authentication and account management
- Payment processing
- Email and communications
- Security and fraud prevention
- Analytics and technical monitoring
- Customer support
These providers should receive only the information reasonably required to perform their services and are expected to handle information in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, regulatory requirement, or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or safety of AMSi, our users, or others.
If AMSi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of some or all of its business or assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to provide the AMSi service, or to meet legal, accounting, security, or regulatory requirements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the AMSi subscription or feature being used.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, or anonymize it.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These safeguards may include access controls, authentication measures, secure transmission and storage practices, monitoring, and restrictions on who can access personal information.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Parents and guardians should therefore also protect their account credentials and notify us if they believe their account has been compromised.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
AMSi may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep users signed in
- Remember preferences
- Maintain platform functionality
- Understand how the service is being used
- Improve performance
- Protect the security of the platform
Where required by applicable law, users will be given appropriate choices regarding non-essential cookies or tracking technologies.
11. Marketing Communications
We may send parents or guardians information about AMSi products, features, updates, or offers where permitted by law. Marketing communications are directed to the adult account holder rather than the child. Recipients may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the unsubscribe option provided in the communication.
12. International Processing
Some of AMSi's technology or service providers may operate or store information outside the province, territory, or country in which a user lives. As a result, personal information may be processed in another jurisdiction and may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. Where appropriate, AMSi will use contractual, organizational, and technical measures designed to protect personal information when it is handled by third-party providers.
13. Parent and Guardian Rights
Subject to applicable law, parents and guardians may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information associated with their account or child profile
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of certain information
- Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing
- Ask questions about how information is being used
- Raise a concern or complaint regarding AMSi's privacy practices
Some information may need to be retained where required by law or where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate legal purposes. Withdrawal of consent or deletion of certain information may affect AMSi's ability to provide some features.
14. Educational Records and Sensitive Information
AMSi is not intended to replace a child's school, teacher, educational professional, or official student record system.
Parents should avoid uploading documents containing information that AMSi does not need to provide the requested learning support, including government identification numbers, financial information, medical records, passwords, or other highly sensitive personal information. Where possible, identifying information about other children, teachers, or individuals should be removed before educational material is uploaded.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as AMSi develops, new features are introduced, technology changes, or legal requirements evolve. The effective date at the top of this policy will indicate when it was most recently updated.
If we make material changes affecting how personal information is collected, used, or disclosed, we will provide appropriate notice and seek additional consent where required.
16. Contact Us
Questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or AMSi's handling of personal information may be directed through our Contact Us page.
Parents and guardians may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with their AMSi account or their child's profile.
AMSi's Privacy Commitment
Children should be able to learn with technology without giving up their privacy. Our goal is simple: collect what we need, protect what we collect, and put parents in control.
